About PACT Humane Society

People and Animals in Community Together (PACT) Humane Society is a no-kill,all volunteer, not-for-profit humane society and educational organization. PACT was established in April of 2000 in Downers Grove, Illinois and currently runs an adoption center in Bloomingdale, Illinois where cats and dogs are adopted daily.

  • PACT is incorporated with the Illinois Secretary of State as a non-profit corporation.
  • PACT is licensed with the Illinois Department of Agriculture.
  • PACT is partner with the Petco Foundation.
  • PACT is a tax exempt organization 501(c)(3) with the Internal Revenue Service

PACT volunteers serve in many different capacities including daily animal care providers (cleaning and socialization), adoption counselors, management team members, program coordinators, webmasters, humane educators, and advisors.

Because of our limited space, some animals live in foster homes until space or adoption opportunities become available.

PACT has over 100 volunteers that care for over 150 dogs and cats at both our adoption centers and those animals in foster care. PACT’s management team consists 17 volunteers, including IT professionals, banking professionals, medical professionals, veternarian technicans, teachers, dog trainers, retirees and home makers.

PACT Humane Society has adopted out over 5500 cats and dogs since opening our doors in April of 2000.
