Adoption Fees & Practices

Whether you plan to adopt a cat or kitten, t is essential to keep in mind that you are making a 10-20 year commitment to that animal. Since most of the animals available for adoption have already had one or more homes, it is essential that the animals be placed in a new, loving, and permanent home.

The adoption fee per cat is $100.   Cats that are paired will not be separated, and are $200 for the pair.

PACT accepts cash and personal checks.

Adoption fees reimburse our humane society for the extensive veterinary care the animals receive prior to adoption.  An individual would likely pay 2-3 times this amount for the same veterinary care for their pet.

Included in the adoption fee for cats and kittens are a microchip, vaccinations against rabies and distemper, tests for Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), treatment of parasites, exam by a licensed veterinariain, and the mandatory sterilization of the animal prior to adoption.  These procedures save adopters from $100 to $700.   Because kittens require a series of inoculations, adopters will most likely be responsible for the cost of some of their vaccinations.

(* Fee subject to change at PACT Humane Society discretion.)
