PACT Dogs

PACT has a small foster care program for our dogs that we rescue from animal control facilities and other sources.  We are always in need of foster homes, so that we can rescue even more dogs.  Every year tens of thousands of animals are killed in the Chicago area alone for lack of a home.  Each foster home means one life saved.  Please, if you have the room in your heart and home, consider fostering a dog or puppy (or two, or three...!).

If you cannot currently foster a dog, please consider making a donation to help pay for the medical and daily care of the dogs currently in our program, or by volunteering with us in another capacity.   If you are interested in fostering or adopting, please contact our Canine Foster Care Coordinator or leave us a voice message.

We rescued Trish from a municipal shelter. Trish is a 49 lb. German Shepherd mix who's estimated to be 6 years old.  She is well-trained, gentle and affectionate. While in her temporary foster home in November, her foster mom made many helpful observations. While at a relative's home for Thanksgiving dinner, Trish loved to be around people, didn't beg at the table or swipe food in the unattended kitchen. Those are big pluses for a dog! Trish does not cower when told "down" or "wait", and she doesn't jump on doors. Trish knows how to "give paw". She will put her head on your bed at night for a good-night pat. She loves her towel (it's her security), going for walks, and and car rides. She ignores balls and rawhide chews. Because Trish chases cars if given a chance, she needs a secure yard or to be on a leash while walking. Trish is a very smart dog and a great companion who only needs to find her forever home to be happy. Trish has been spayed, heartworm tested, microchipped, and is current on vaccinations.

Ben

Ben was rescued from a shelter in Memphis, Tennessee.  Ben is a handsome 1 year-old mix -- we speculate he's part Hound, Lab and/or German Shepherd.  He is a VERY friendly boy who's looking forward to his new home north of the Mason-Dixon line.

Ben is best placed in a home without cats. Although he had previously lived with one, he tends to chase them. Ben gets along with other dogs.Adopted!

Ben is currently being treated for heartworm:  he had x-rays and a blood panel, which led our veterinarian to determine his course of treatment.  He has had 2 out of the 3 treatments and is looking great!

Little John

Little John is a tiny 6.4 lb. Jack Russell Terrier.  His human died, and he wound up at an animal control facility.  The animal control officer took him for walks every day, and described him as "very sweet".  She was thrilled that PACT agreed to accept him.Adopted!

He has a history of having seizures and falling down, but his foster mom hasn't seen any seizures.    He recently had his teeth cleaned.

Koby

Koby is a 1-year old Collie mix.  He loves people and gets along well with cats and other dogs, yet can be shy around other animals.  Very good with children.  Happy-go-lucky and obedient.  Koby has been neutered and is current on vaccines.  Adopted!

Goose

Goose is a mixed breed male, black and white.  The veterinarian thinks he's a Pointer mix.  He's about 11 months old, maybe 50 pounds and really likes people; he's been around other dogs and interacts with them just OK.  He has never been around small children, just young teenagers and interacted with them very well.

He has been neutered and is current on vaccines.  He gets really excited being around new people and may need to take it easy.  He is fairly well housetrained, and knows how to use a dog door.

He's a great little dog who needs love and attention.Adopted!

Trooper

Trooper is a 11 month old Shepherd/Collie mix. He is very playful and LOVES attention. He is being fostered at a farm so he gets to run and play all day long. He is still a puppy and will need to go to puppy school with his adoption, to learn how to behave more like a adult. He is very sweet and thinks he is a lap dog, but at 55 pounds he can be a little heavy.

Adopted!

He was rescued at animal control where he only had five days left. He is in need of a loving caring home, where he can play. He needs a owner who has time to play/walk/run or take him to the dog park as he loves to play. He is in foster with dogs, and likes to play with them, has not been tested with cats, but he might think they are toys!! He is good with kids, but little kids he could knock over!

Honey

Honey is a 7 month old Belgium Shepherd mix. She loves everything and everyone. She gets along with dogs, but she is a puppy so she plays a little rough and it scares some dogs:)...but its not her fault she just wants to play!!

She loves attention, going for runs and playing with toys all day. She was found as a stray and is now looking for a place to call her home! Adopted!

Skittles

Skittles is a 9 month to 1 year old Shepherd mix. She was going to be killed at a puppy mill, because she was too scared to be used for breeding. She is a total love bug when it comes to being pet.  She is good with dogs and has been temperament tested for kids 10 and older. Adopted!
